The Family Pillar
This painting is a portrait of my husband—yet it could represent any man. I created it during a deeply transitional time in our lives, when we moved from Budapest to Virginia to begin a new chapter as a family, without support or connections.
The crown symbolizes his journey into manhood—not just as a husband and father, but as someone navigating the unknown with strength and quiet sacrifice. It marks the shift from youthful independence to the weight of responsibility.
He gave up everything for this adventure, setting aside his pride to build a strong foundation for us. The shattered glass surrounding him reflects the emotional cost of this transformation—what breaks, what’s rebuilt, and what’s silently endured.
Though he remained strong for our sake, I witnessed every change. I believe many men carry this invisible weight within a family. This painting expresses that hidden strength through form, presence, and emotional tension.
I've hidden a face in this painting. If you find it, you'll get a 5 % discount if you buy directly from me and see the artwork in person at the event. The hidden face has a special connection to the message of the painting - guess and win!
